A market for nine settlements, Mercury to Neptune, where messages take hours, packets get lost and the Sun can block a path for weeks. Each exchange trades only with assets already in its own ledger, so delay and loss can slow trades but never create or destroy value. Watch money and shares cross the solar system at the speed of light, replay the paper's scenarios or build your own; every run uses the same simulator as the paper (Kepler orbits, light time, solar exclusion, relays, loss, quotas and the exchanges' ledgers), running in your browser.
Sessions, failures, resubmissions and restart notices from the courier.
Each repeat draws every backbone launch and every direct copy against the brief's loss law with a new random seed. The thin line is the 2,000-run result from the evidence appendix where one exists.
Nine settlements and two relays move on fixed Kepler ellipses from the epoch 2026-09-22 00:00 TDB. A packet leaves its sender at one position and meets the receiver where the receiver will be when the light arrives, so every dot flies a slightly bent path. A link is blocked when the straight path passes within 0.1 AU of the Sun.
Money moves only as a funded TRANSFER on the relay backbone: the sending exchange debits first, the receiving exchange imports once and answers RECEIVED. Orders and contract instructions are direct packets from the client to the host exchange; copies are sent 60 s apart so one usually gets through. The host reports contract status (HELD, OPEN) back as a batched STATUS record over the backbone to each client's home exchange, which tells its clients locally.
Every account lives at its home exchange. To trade elsewhere a client first funds its own account at the market's host exchange. The host matches locally and atomically against funds it already holds, then ships shares or cash home automatically. Futures margin is posted at the host up front, so the contract can always pay. No exchange ever gives credit for money that is still in flight.
Rule R9 lets a third exchange forward a client's instruction while the client's own direct path is behind the Sun. Alternative A1 (not part of the design) makes a restarted exchange tell its recent peers, so they resend at once instead of waiting out their timers.
